Religion and what I make of it

The title suggests an introduction to the topic . Not for you , but for me. I often try to understand a subject by writing about it and seeing my thoughts in front of me.
So what was the need for the origin of religion? Or who even suggested a concept like religion?

I've always believed that all the world's religions are clearly a case of Chinese Whisper gone wrong .
The saints and prophets all around the world teach us basically the same things that a parent or a well wisher would say to us. For eg. we know that we should be peaceful, but religion, over the years can make this into a rule that a person who is not peaceful should be hanged.

Take our constitution as an example.. not giving it the title of religion enables it to be changed according to the changing times of today.

I read a very interesting trilogy on the story of a mortal shiva.. or the shiva trilogy by amish tripathi.. here he tells a story of shiv who discovers that the 'somras' , the drink which causes immortality ,and produces such wonders has finished its course and has become evil, decides to destroy it.

He is prophecied as the one who will find out the evil and destroy it from the society.
Somras becomes evil when its cons far outweigh its benefits.
Similarly I believe a time has come for the end of religions..

Religions have served the purpose of uniting men and spiritually advancing them for many millennia. They were a substitute for a civil constitution back then and also as a path to their spiritual journey .

But trouble arises when men focus on the word and not the philosophy .. when they memorise but not comprehend .

It leads to power grabbing , confusion, and ultimately loss of lives.
When religion turns against itself ,it shouldn't require a shiv to tell us that the time has come for it to end itself and to start something new.

Heaven and hell, both can be found on earth if compassion and kindness are placed over Allah and Ram.
